Saliha Bazmjow (Abstract Artist)
San Diego California

Saliha is a first-generation Afghan woman, who taught herself how to paint as a hobby.  As an artist, she hopes to represent a more positive and modern image of the role of Afghan and Muslim women in the United States. Through her art, she hopes to show the contemporary reality of such women and the important roles they assume on a daily basis as wives, mothers and career women who make a difference in the communities they live in. In addition, through her paintings Saliha plans to promote Autism awareness as well as other important social issues affecting modern society. She is planning on donating  part of the proceeds towards the education of children in Afghanistan. Saliha continues to create original pieces of artwork on a regular basis and has plans to continue having art shows throughout San Diego Country.
